TechN, who excelled in our review of AM4 CPU water coolers, now have a graphics card water cooler for the AMD RX 6800 (XT) and RX 6900 XT on offer.
TechN’s RX 6800(XT)/6900XT GPU water block is compatible with AMD’s reference graphics card design. The new GPU waterblock features a black, closed design with no visible screws and can be complemented with an optional anodized aluminum backplate. The backplate is intended to not only provide a more uniform look, but also further improve performance through passive cooling.
The base of the cooler is made of POM-C, just like the lid. The cooling surface (coldplate) made of pure and non-nickel-plated copper covers all relevant parts of the graphics cards.
An optimized contact pressure and a very fine fin geometry are supposed to provide for the correspondingly high cooling performance. Compared to the TechN 2080 Ti, the temperature difference (DeltaT water to GPU) is 2 degrees better, according to the manufacturer. In the test of PC Games Hardware, the TechN GPU cooler could already convince and reached the top position.
With the RX6000 water cooler, the German manufacturer gives AMD the lead. TechN has not yet presented a water cooler for the RTX 3000 series, but only hinted at it for the release of the Ampere GPUs.
A compatibility list provides insights with which graphics cards the TechN GPU waterblock has been tested for compatibility. RX 6800, 6800 XT and 6900 XT are on the list here. The cooler is already (pre)orderable at TechN. The cooler will go on sale for 136.90 Euros. The TechN GPU backplate for AMD 6000 costs 34.90 Euro.
